Ingredients

  • 12 ounces ground beef 85% lean, grass fed, Open Nature brand
  • ½ yellow onion finely chopped, small
  • 3 garlic minced, cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cumin ground
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 2 tablespoons mint leaves minced
  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt strained, Open Nature brand
  • ½ cup hummus
  • ½ cup tomato seeds removed, chopped
  • ½ cup cucumber chopped
  • 3 tablespoons feta cheese crumbled
  • Pita chips Original with Sea Salt, for serving, Open Nature brand

Instructions

  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly coat with cooking spray.
  2. Add the ground beef and onions, and cook until the ground beef is cooked through, crumbling with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in the garlic, cumin, cinnamon, allspice, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute. Stir in the mint leaves.
  4. In a medium bowl, stir together the yogurt and hummus until combined.
  5. Layer the yogurt mixture in the bottom of an 8- by 8-inch serving dish.
  6. Arrange the tomatoes and cucumber over top, then layer the ground beef mixture and feta cheese over top.
  7. Serve with pita chips.
