Beergarita (a.k.a Bad Idea)
Description
This cocktail mixes silver tequila with triple sec and freshly muddled lime juice and agave syrup, chilled and strained into salt-rimmed glasses filled with cracked ice. The final touch is a slowly poured Corona or Bud Light beer, adding carbonation and light maltiness to the classic margarita flavors. The beer's mild bitterness balances the sweetness and acidity of the citrus and agave.
The drink can also be made in larger batches by combining all ingredients (except beer) in a chilled jug, adding ice before serving. Each glass is garnished with lime slices and topped with beer, making it suitable for relaxed gatherings.
Adjust the sweetness by tasting the margarita base before adding beer and omitting agave syrup if preferred. The beer should be ice-cold to maintain the refreshing qualities when mixed.
