  • lemon juice of 2
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.5 tsp ground cardamom
  • 550 g sugar
  • 600 g beetroot grated
  • 1 apple peeled and finely diced
  • 550 g sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix together orange juice, lemon juice, vanilla, ginger and ground cardamom.
  2. Mix in the sugar followed by the grated beetroot and apple
  3. Add the beetroot relish mixture into a pot and cover.
  4. After 20 min, open the lid and let the relish cook till finished mixing regularly.

Notes

  • Adjust the lemon and sugar amounts to make the relish tarter or sweeter according to your taste.
  • This beetroot relish can also be served as a jam due to its sweet and thick consistency.
