Best BBQ Sauce for Chicken Recipe

This BBQ sauce combines ketchup, coconut sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sriracha, and spices to create a flavorful sauce suited for chicken. It is cooked by whisking ingredients over medium-high heat, then simmering to meld the flavors into a balanced, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce. Liquid smoke adds a subtle smoky note. The sauce can be cooled and stored for later use on chicken dishes.

Description

This BBQ sauce recipe uses ketchup as the base sweetened with coconut sugar and balanced by apple cider vinegar for acidity. Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce provide complexity and savory depth. The addition of sriracha introduces a mild heat, while garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder add savory and smoky spices. Drops of liquid smoke simulate a charcoal grill flavor without actual grilling. Cooking the sauce by bringing it to a boil and then simmering allows the flavors to blend and the texture to thicken slightly.

The resulting sauce complements grilled or roasted chicken with its tangy, sweet, and mildly spicy profile. It can be used as a marinade, basting sauce, or dipping sauce. After simmering, the sauce should be cooled before applying to chicken or storing.
