Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (or a suitable sugar-free alternative such as Sukrin Gold)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin (introduces a sweet and earthy punch)
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (use more if you like your food spicier)
Instructions
- Combine the sweet and smoked paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, ground cumin, and cayenne pepper in a bowl or in a spice jar.
- If using a spice jar, close the lid and shake to combine. Otherwise use a small spoon to combine the ingredients. Store your homemade burger seasoning in an airtight container and keep it in a cool and dry place.
Notes
- Use a sugar-free brown sugar sweetener to keep it healthier and cut down on carbs or calories!

- A teaspoon of spice for every pound of meat is a good starting point; simply adjust it to your spice preference.
- Store your homemade burger seasoning in airtight spice jars or other suitable containers, in a cool and dry place for up to 3 months. I recommend making the spice mix in small batches which one can easily use up, as opposed to one big batch to ensure the burger seasoning still keeps fresh.
