Best Oven Broiled Ribeye Steaks with Mushrooms Recipe

This recipe features two thick 16 oz ribeye steaks seasoned with sea salt and cracked black pepper, broiled in a heavy cast iron pan with sliced cremini mushrooms, garlic, and fresh thyme. Cooking under a hot broiler creates a well-seared crust while allowing the steaks to cook to preferred doneness. The addition of garlic herb butter at the end enriches the steaks and mushrooms for a savory finish.

Description

Best Oven Broiled Ribeye Steaks with Mushrooms Recipe centers on broiling well-seasoned ribeye steaks in a preheated cast iron pan. The steaks are brought to room temperature and seasoned with Celtic sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, then cooked alongside thinly sliced cremini mushrooms. Fresh garlic cloves and thyme sprigs added partway through cooking infuse the dish with subtle herbal and aromatic notes. The broiler cooks the steaks evenly, creating a brown crust on the outside while keeping the interior juicy and tender. A few pats of garlic herb butter placed on top just before removing from heat melt into the meat and mushrooms, adding richness and moisture.

The mushrooms provide an earthy contrast to the beef’s robust flavor and a tender texture that complements the charred edges of the steaks. The method of flipping steaks and stirring mushrooms during cooking helps achieve even doneness and caramelization. Allowing the steaks to rest for at least 10 minutes after cooking lets their juices redistribute for a juicy bite.

This straightforward technique balances the bold flavors of ribeye with aromatic mushrooms and herbs, producing an enhanced steakhouse-style meal that can be served simply with sides like roasted vegetables or potatoes.
