Description
This marinade mixes balsamic vinegar and soy sauce for acidity and saltiness, balanced with neutral cooking oil and Worcestershire sauce for depth. Honey lends subtle sweetness, rounded by Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and dried mustard for complexity. The steaks soak in the mixture for a short time, making it practical for quick preparation without overpowering the meat.
After marinating, the steaks grill over direct heat to develop a seared exterior while retaining juicy interiors. Resting the steaks before serving lets the juices redistribute.
The marinade works well for 4 to 6 eight-ounce steaks and can be garnished with fresh parsley for color.
Ingredients
- 4-6 steak 8-ounce
- ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning dried
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
- parsley optional, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Whisk together balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, oil, worcestershire sauce, honey, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and dried mustard.
- Add steaks and marinade to a zip lock bag, tossing the steaks a few times to coat. Press the excess air out, seal the bag, and chill for 15-20 minutes.
- Use tongs to transfer steaks to a preheated grill. Cook until desired doneness is reached. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Marinate steaks for only 15 to 30 minutes to avoid overpowering the meat.
