Best Salmon Marinade Mediterranean Style
Description
Best Salmon Marinade Mediterranean Style uses a blend of lemon juice, olive oil, honey, sliced garlic, salt, oregano, black pepper, dill, and red pepper flakes to impart classic Mediterranean flavors. The salmon is marinated for between 30 minutes to 4 hours, allowing the acidic lemon juice and herbs to penetrate the fish without compromising texture. Baking at 400°F for 20 minutes cooks the salmon thoroughly until it flakes easily yet remains moist.
The marinade balances acidity, sweetness, and savoriness, which complement the natural richness of salmon. The garlic and herbs add aromatic depth, while the red pepper flakes give a subtle heat. This method produces tender, flavorful fish suitable as a main course accompanied simply by a fresh salad or vegetables.
For best results, avoid marinating more than four hours to prevent the lemon juice from breaking down the salmon's texture. Cooking until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F ensures it is safe to eat while retaining moisture. Alternative herbs like coriander or thyme can be used for variation. This recipe offers versatility as the marinated salmon can also be grilled or roasted.

- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

- Bake the salmon in the oven for 20 minutes. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily and is opaque.
- Serve with a side salad.
Notes
- Marinate the salmon between 30 minutes and 4 hours to maintain texture; acidic lemon juice can break down the fish if left longer.
- Check salmon doneness by its ability to flake easily, and aim for an internal temperature of 145°F as recommended.
- Consider adding other herbs such as coriander or thyme for different flavor profiles.
- The marinade works well with baking, grilling, or roasting methods.
