Best Slow Cooker Pork Chops
Description
The recipe begins by seasoning a mixture of flour, ground mustard, garlic pepper, and seasoned salt, then dredging boneless pork loin chops in it. After browning the pork chops in hot canola oil to develop color and flavor, they are transferred to a slow cooker where chicken broth is added. The pork simmers gently for two to three hours on low until tender.
Once the pork chops are removed, the remaining cooking liquid is thickened by whisking in the remaining flour and cooking on high until it forms a gravy. This rich sauce complements the mild pork and enhances its moistness. The slow cooker technique allows the chops to cook gently without drying out, producing a dish with tender meat and a flavorful sauce.
This dish is practical for a comforting meal requiring minimal active time, suitable for serving with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour divided
- ½ teaspoon ground mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic pepper
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- 4 pork chop boneless, loin
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can chicken broth
Instructions
- Combine dry mustard, garlic pepper, seasoned salt, and 1/4 cup of your flour in a Ziploc bag. Add each pork chop one at a time, and shake well to coat all sides. Place in a large skillet with hot oil. Brown on both sides.
- Place pork chops in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Top with chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, until meat is tender.
- Remove pork and set aside. Add remaining flour to cooking juices in crock pot. Whisk until smooth. Cover and cook on high until gravy is thickened. Pour over chops and enjoy!
