Better-Than-Dominos Garlic Bread
Description
The recipe begins by slicing a French stick baguette nearly through at 2cm intervals, then mixing softened unsalted butter with finely minced fresh garlic, salt, and chopped parsley if desired. The garlic butter is spread inside the bread cuts as well as on the bread's exterior surfaces. Wrapping the bread in foil preserves moisture during baking, allowing the crust to crisp without drying out the interior.
Baking at 200°C (390°F) for about 15 minutes produces bread with a crispy crust complemented by a buttery and garlicky center. The fresh garlic flavor mellows slightly through cooking but remains pronounced. This garlic bread pairs well as a side with pasta dishes, soups, or salads.
Using a bakery-style long French stick approximates the texture and shape of typical garlic bread served in popular pizza chains. The recipe notes that garlic flavor diminishes with heat so seasoning to taste before baking is advised. Variations in bread type are possible but affect texture and size.
