  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 (8 ounce can) water chestnut finely chopped
  • 1 cup green cabbage shredded
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 head butter lettuce
  • 1/2 cup green onions sliced

Sauce

  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the sesame oil and add in the ground chicken.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and cook the chicken thoroughly until it is browned. About 6-8 minutes
  3. Add in the diced onion and let it sauté alongside the chicken for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Next, add in the water chestnuts, cabbage, garlic and ginger. Stir and let cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add into the cooked chicken and vegetables the sauce mixture and let cook all together for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve in lettuce cup and garnish with green onions.
