Big Mac Sauce

Big Mac Sauce is a classic burger condiment made by combining mayonnaise with sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, and a blend of spices including garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and turmeric. The sauce has a creamy texture with tangy and slightly sweet flavors, closely resembling the traditional sauce served on Big Mac burgers. It pairs well with burgers, fries, or as a dipping sauce.

Description

This Big Mac Sauce recipe starts by mixing mayonnaise with sweet pickle relish to introduce a creamy base with a sweet, tangy crunch. White vinegar adds acidity to brighten the flavor, while garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a touch of turmeric contribute depth, warmth, and the characteristic color. The ingredients are whisked together until smooth and can be adjusted for sweetness with granulated sugar based on personal preference or the relish’s sweetness. The sauce replicates the balance of savory, tangy, and mildly spiced notes typical of the Big Mac burger sauce.

The sauce can be served immediately and works well as a burger spread, dipping sauce for fries, or with other sandwich preparations. It offers a creamy, tangy condiment that enhances simple foods without overpowering them.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish sweet
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric
  • granulated sugar if needed to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, add 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, and 1/8 teaspoon turmeric.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until combined.
  3. The granulated sugar, is optional. Depending on the sweetness of the relish, you can determine if you want to add sugar or not. I like mine slightly on the sweeter side. Add a dash of sugar until you reach the desired taste.
  4. Enjoy with French fries, as a dipping sauce, or on a burger, of course!
