Big Mac Sloppy Joes
Description
This recipe creates a sandwich filling inspired by the flavors of a Big Mac using ground beef, finely diced onions, and a distinct Big Mac sauce made from mayonnaise, french dressing, pickle relish, white wine vinegar, and spices. The beef mixture is cooked until browned, combined with part of the sauce, and heated through to meld flavors. The remainder of the sauce is reserved for assembling the sandwiches.
The sandwiches are assembled by spreading the remaining Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun, layering with shredded iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickle slices, and finally the beef mixture, then topping with the bun. The result is a saucy, savory filling with tang and mild sweetness reminiscent of the classic fast food burger but served in a sloppy joe style.
These sandwiches make a hearty meal suitable for casual dinners or gatherings, offering Big Mac flavors in a more hands-on, comfort food format.
Ingredients
- BEEF MIXTURE:
- 1 pound ground beef lean
- 1/2 onion finely diced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- BIG MAC SAUCE:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup french dressing
- 2 Tbsp pickle relish sweet
- 1 tsp white wine vinegar
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- To assemble:
- 4 Hamburger Bun with sesame seeds
- 2 cups iceberg lettuce shredded
- 8-12 pickle slices
- 4 lices American cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef with the chopped onions in a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Season with the salt and pepper and cook until the beef is fully browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain off any excess grease.
- Mix the Big Mac sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Stir well to thoroughly combine these ingredients.
- Mix in 1 cup of the Big Mac Sauce into ground beef mixture in the skillet and save the rest of the sauce for serving. Cook for 1-2 minutes to heat these ingredients through.
- Then it’s time to assemble the sandwiches. Spread the extra Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun, top with the lettuce, cheese, pickles and then a scoop of the meat. Then place the top bun on top. Serve warm and enjoy!
