  • 1 buttermilk biscuits 8 count, package
  • 1 Pound breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 2 1/2 cup milk whole
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Bake the biscuits based on the package instructions.
  2. Brown the sausage in a large skillet with deep sides over medium high heat.  Break up the sausage as it cooks.  Do not drain off the excess grease.
  3. Turn the heat down to medium-low.  Add the butter to the pan and melt the butter.
  4. Add the flour to the pan and stir to coat the sausage with the flour and cook for approximately 1 minute.
  5. Slowly stir in the milk and continue to cook on a low simmer for 3-5 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  6. Make sure to scrape down the bottom and sides of the pan to make sure that the flour and sausage does not stick to the pan.
  7. Then season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve the hot gravy over the hot cooked biscuits and enjoy!

Notes

  • Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
