Blackened Chicken Thighs with Garlic Butter Sauce

Blackened Chicken Thighs with Garlic Butter Sauce combines spiced, pan-seared boneless chicken thighs with a rich sauce of garlic, butter, cilantro, and chicken stock. The method involves browning the chicken first, then preparing a flavorful sauce in the same pan to finish cooking the chicken gently while infusing it with garlicky, buttery flavors and herbaceous notes from cilantro.

Description

This recipe starts by heating butter in a skillet to brown chicken thighs seasoned with blackening seasoning, creating a deep golden crust that adds smoky, spicy flavor. The chicken is removed when browned but not fully cooked, allowing the meat to retain juiciness.

Garlic is then cooked in the remaining butter until lightly browned, imparting a toasted aroma. Adding diced cilantro, additional blackening seasoning, and chicken stock, the liquid is reduced slightly to concentrate flavors, forming a savory garlic butter sauce with fresh herb highlights. Returning the chicken to the pan finishes cooking it through to a safe internal temperature while coating it with this rich sauce.

The dish offers tender, flavorful chicken with crisped edges and a luscious, garlicky butter sauce. It can be served with rice or vegetables to balance the richness. This method leverages stovetop cooking to build layered flavor in the sauce while ensuring moist chicken.
