Blended Oat Breakfast Drink
Description
Blended Oat Breakfast Drink uses rolled oats and almond milk as a base, complemented with water and hemp hearts for added nutrition. Maple syrup provides natural sweetness, while vanilla and cinnamon add warm flavor notes. The ingredients are blended thoroughly to create a creamy and smooth drink.
The texture is slightly thick but smooth, due to blending the oats and hemp hearts. The cinnamon and vanilla offer a subtle aromatic spice, balanced by the gentle sweetness of maple syrup. This drink serves as a filling breakfast or snack and can be topped with extra cinnamon for added spice.
This beverage is best when consumed freshly blended or refrigerated and consumed within a day. Variations include substituting chia seeds for hemp hearts, though chia seeds cause thickening and more texture as they don’t blend down as finely.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk or your favorite non-dairy milk, unsweetened vanilla
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup rolled oats certifed GF if needed
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup or more to taste, or coconut sugar or sweetener of choice
- 2 Tablespoons hemp hearts
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- handful of ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds. Taste and adjust sweetness and flavor as desired.
- Pour into a travel mug. Top with extra cinnamon, if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
- Best to consume within 24 hours of blending for optimal freshness.
- If preferred, substitute hemp hearts with chia seeds, noting this will thicken the drink and increase texture.
- Refrigerate if not drinking immediately, and stir before serving.
