Blondies Recipe

These blondies feature a moist, tender crumb enriched with melted butter and packed with semisweet chocolate chunks for bursts of sweetness. Brown sugar and vanilla add depth, creating a soft bar cookie with a light golden color, perfect for cutting into squares as a classic baked treat.

Description

Blondies Recipe yields a sweet, dense bar with a tender crumb built from melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. The baked blondies have a light golden brown surface, with semisweet chocolate chunks folded into the batter and pressed atop before baking to deliver pockets of melted chocolate throughout. The flour, baking powder, and salt provide structure and balance the sweetness.

This recipe is baked in a parchment-lined square pan, then cooled before cutting into squares for serving. The blondies offer a chewy texture with occasional soft, melted chocolate bits, making them a simple dessert or snack cookie.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 12 tablespoons butter melted, unsalted
  • 1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks divided use
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9 or 10 inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on each side.
  2. Coat the parchment lined pan with cooking spray.
  3. Place the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl and whisk until combined. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until mixture is smooth.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder and salt to the bowl. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chunks into the dough.
  6. Spread the dough in an even layer in the prepared pan. Press the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chunks into the top of the dough.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until blondies are light golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few crumbs attached.
  8. Let the blondies cool. Use the parchment overhang to remove the slab of cookie from the pan and cut into squares. Serve.
