Blood Orange Margarita

The Blood Orange Margarita is a cocktail combining blood orange juice, tequila blanco, triple sec, lime juice, and grenadine, served in a glass rimmed with a mix of sanding sugar and salt. Garnished with blood orange slices and fresh mint, this drink balances citrus flavors with a touch of sweetness and a salted rim.

Description

This Blood Orange Margarita recipe starts by rimming the glass with a mixture of sanding sugar and salt to create a sweet-salty edge. The cocktail shaker combines ice with blood orange juice, blanco tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and grenadine, which adds sweetness, flavor, and color. Shaking the ingredients chills and blends the flavors before straining into the prepared glass over fresh ice.

The drink is garnished with slices and sprigs of blood orange and mint, adding a fresh aromatic touch and enhancing presentation. The blend of tangy citrus, smooth tequila, and sweet grenadine offers a layered and refreshing cocktail experience perfect for a single serving.

Grenadine can be substituted with simple syrup if preferred. Shaking can be done in a cocktail shaker or alternative containers like a mason jar, or ingredients can be stirred well if shaking tools are unavailable.
