BLT Dip
Description
BLT Dip combines cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise into a smooth base that’s seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper to recreate the savory profile of a BLT sandwich. Five slices of cooked bacon are crumbled and folded into this base, adding smoky, salty flavor through the dip.
The mixture spreads evenly into a pie plate and is topped with crisp shredded lettuce, fresh diced and seeded tomatoes, shredded cheddar or Colby jack cheese, sliced green onions, and remaining bacon slices for layered textures and complementary fresh and savory notes. The layered assembly provides creamy, crunchy, and fresh bites within the same dip.
Chilling the dip for at least one hour before serving improves flavor melding and texture. It pairs well with crackers, toasted bread, chips, or other dippers and serves well for gatherings or casual snacks.
BLT Dip maintains quality when stored covered in the refrigerator for up to three days but should not be frozen to preserve texture and flavor.
Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 ½ cups sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
- 8 lices Bacon divided, cooked
- 1 cup lettuce shredded
- 2 plum tomatoes diced and seeds removed, or Roma tomatoes
- 1 cup cheddar cheese or colby jack cheese, shredded
- 1 green onion sliced
- crackers or any other dipping options you would like
- Toasted bread slices
- Chips
Instructions
- Place cream cheese in a large bowl and stir until smooth (I like to use an electric mixer to make this easy, but if your cream cheese is soft enough you can simply stir by hand with a spoon or spatula).
- Add sour cream, mayo, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper and stir until completely combined and mixture is smooth.
- Crumble or finely chop 5 slices of bacon and stir into the cream cheese mixture until well-combined. Chop remaining bacon and set aside.
- Spread cream cheese mixture evenly into ungreased pie plate.
- Top with shredded lettuce then tomato, shredded cheese, green onion, and remaining bacon. If desired, sprinkle additional ground black pepper over the surface of the dish.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours before serving with crackers, bread, chips, etc. Enjoy!
Notes
- Store BLT Dip covered in the refrigerator for up to three days to retain freshness.
- Do not freeze the dip, as freezing may detract from texture and flavor.
