Blue Cheese Dip
Description
The Blue Cheese Dip recipe employs a mix of sour cream, mayonnaise, and half-fat Greek yogurt to create a smooth, creamy base with a balanced tang. Crumbled blue cheese is folded in, providing a crumbly texture and characteristic sharpness. Acidic elements including fresh lemon juice and apple cider vinegar brighten the dip, contrasting the richness from the dairy components.
The dip’s texture is chunky due to the crumbled cheese, but it can be blended smooth if a uniform texture is preferred. Mixing several hours before serving enhances the melding of flavors and helps soften the bite of the blue cheese. The recipe suggests topping with extra crumbled cheese for presentation when serving with fresh vegetables or crudités.
Variations include adding finely chopped spring onions for crispness or fresh parsley to lighten the dip’s profile. Refrigerate covered to maintain freshness. The dip suits appetizer platters or sandwiches and can be adjusted for seasoning to personal taste.

- 100 g sour cream
- 100 g mayonnaise
- 100 g Greek yogurt half fat
- 60 g blue cheese
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
Instructions
- Put 100 g Mayonnaise, 100 g Sour cream and 100 g Greek yogurt into a bowl. Crumble in 60 g Blue cheese. Mix well to combine, mashing down the cheese as you mix.
- Add 2 tablespoon Lemon juice, 2 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar and 1 pinch Sea salt and ground black pepper. Mix well.
- Transfer to a bowl, top with a little more crumbled cheese and serve with crudités.
Notes
- Combine all ingredients a few hours before serving to allow flavors to meld and soften the blue cheese's sharpness.
- For a smoother texture, blend the dip until creamy instead of leaving it chunky.
- Adding fresh parsley or finely chopped spring onions can brighten or add crunch to the dip.
- Keep the dip covered in the refrigerator until serving to maintain freshness.
