Blue Cheese Dressing

This Blue Cheese Dressing balances creamy sour cream and mayonnaise with the distinct tang of blue cheese. Lemon juice brightens the flavor, while garlic powder and optional chives add subtle savory notes. Milk adjusts the dressing to a pourable consistency, making it suitable for salads, dips, or drizzling over dishes that benefit from its rich sharpness.

Description

The Blue Cheese Dressing combines sour cream, mayonnaise, and lemon juice with garlic powder and blue cheese to create a smooth, tangy dressing. Half the blue cheese is blended for a creamy texture, while the rest is crumbled into the mixture for bursts of blue cheese flavor in each bite. Stirred in milk thins the dressing to your preferred consistency. This dressing is refrigerated for at least two hours before serving to meld the flavors. It is ideal for salads or as a dip and can be stored up to a week in the fridge. Optional fresh chives add a mild onion note and a touch of color.

  4. Store in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

Notes

  • If you lack a blender or food processor, mix ingredients in a bowl with a hand mixer or spoon, mashing the blue cheese as you stir.
  • Lemon juice can be substituted with white wine vinegar for a slightly different acidity.
