Blueberry Juice
Description
Blueberry Juice combines fresh blueberries, water, lemon juice, and optional raw sugar to create a brightly flavored drink. The blueberries are thoroughly rinsed and soaked in a vinegar and baking soda water solution to remove residues before blending. Lemon juice adds a subtle acidity that lifts the natural berry flavor, while raw sugar can be included to soften the tartness depending on the ripeness of the fruit. Blending the ingredients until smooth results in a refreshing juice with a balance of sweetness and brightness. Serve it chilled for a thirst-quenching drink.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blueberries fresh
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 to 2 tablespoons raw sugar - optional
Instructions
- Rinse fresh blueberries a couple of times in water. To get rid of pesticides, soak the blueberries in water in which 1 tablespoon of vinegar and ½ teaspoon baking soda is added. You can use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. Soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Later, rinse again in water twice. Drain all of the water. Add the blueberries in a blender jar.
- Add raw sugar. Adding sugar is optional and can be skipped if the blueberries are very sweet. Alternatively, you can add any other sweetener of your choice like maple syrup, palm jaggery or coconut sugar.
- Add water. You can use water at room temperature or cold water.
- Add lemon juice.
- Blend till super smooth.
- Pour in glasses and serve Blueberry Juice immediately.
