Boil Corn on the Cob
Description
To make Boil Corn on the Cob, husked and cleaned ears of corn are boiled in a large pot of water combined with salted butter and whole milk. This simmering liquid mixture gently infuses the corn kernels as they cook, ensuring a creamy texture and enhanced sweetness. Boiling for about 10 minutes softens the kernels evenly without making them mushy. Once cooked, the corn is drained and can be finished with additional butter or preferred seasonings.
This preparation suits summer cookouts, casual dinners, or as a side to grilled or roasted meats. Since the corn is cooked in the enriched boiling liquid, it gains subtle additional flavor beyond plain boiling.
If using unsalted butter, adding kosher salt to the boiling water balances seasoning. Serve the corn while hot for optimal tenderness and flavor.
