Boneless BBQ Wings Recipe

Boneless BBQ Wings are small chicken breast chunks double-coated in a seasoned flour mixture, deep-fried to a crispy golden brown, and then tossed in warm honey BBQ sauce. The result is tender, juicy chicken bites with a flavorful, crunchy exterior and a sweet and tangy BBQ glaze.

Description

This recipe cuts boneless, skinless chicken breasts into small pieces that are dipped in an egg and milk mixture and coated twice in seasoned flour with salt, pepper, and paprika. The double coating creates a crispy crust when the chicken is deep-fried in oil approximately one inch deep.

After frying, the chicken pieces are drained and then heated in honey BBQ sauce which coats each piece with a sticky, mildly sweet flavor. The warm wings can be served alongside cold ranch dressing for dipping.

This preparation delivers a snack or appetizer similar to classic chicken wings but without bones. The breading provides a satisfying crunch contrasted by the saucy exterior and tender interior. The method includes resting the coated chicken in the refrigerator before frying to help the coating set.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 chicken breast boneless, skinless
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoons seasoned salt Lawry's brand
  • 1 teaspoons black pepper ground
  • 1 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • vegetable oil
  • honey BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into small chunks.
  2. Whisk together milk and egg in a bowl.
  3. Pour flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a bag. Shake well.
  4. Dip the chicken chunks into the milk/egg and then toss into the flour bag. Dip back into the bowl (milk/egg mixture) and again in the flour bag making sure the wings get double covered. Put the wings on a baking sheet covered with wax paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Five minutes before removing it from the fridge, heat the vegetable oil in a sauce pan about 1 inch deep, on medium heat.
  6. In small batches, place the chicken in the oil. Cook for about 6 minutes, turning the chicken half way through. Cook until the breading is golden brown. Set wings on paper towels to cool.
  7. Heat honey BBQ sauce on medium heat and toss chicken around until well coated. Enjoy with cold ranch dressing!
