Boneless Pork Chops Recipe
Description
Boneless Pork Chops are cooked using a straightforward pan-frying method where the meat is seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Searing in a mix of vegetable oil and butter produces a crisp, golden exterior by cooking each side without disturbance. Garlic quickly sautés in butter before adding a honey-based sauce, infused with apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper, that reduces to a thick amber glaze. The final dish is spooned generously with this sauce, providing sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy notes.
The pork chops serve well as a main protein with their rich, glossy coating and tender interior. The honey garlic sauce yields a balance of flavors that can complement a variety of sides like roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes. Chopping fresh parsley over the dish adds a fresh contrast to the richness.
For best results, use a cast-iron skillet to ensure even heat distribution and optimal crust formation. Freshly minced garlic is recommended rather than grated or blended to avoid bitterness. Cooking time per side depends on thickness but generally 3-4 minutes results in a nicely browned chop. The sauce thickens as it reduces; watch carefully to avoid burning.
Ingredients
- 15 oz (425g) pork chops 3 pork chops, center cut, boneless
- salt
- black pepper ground
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon butter melted, unsalted
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian parsley for garnishing, chopped
Honey Sauce:
- 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons water warm
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and ground black pepper. Combine all the ingredients for the Honey Sauce, stirring thoroughly to mix well.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Place the pork chops in the skillet and pan fry each side without moving for 3-4 minutes, or until they develop a golden brown crust. Flip and repeat on the other side.
- Push the pork chops to one side of the skillet. Add the remaining butter to the empty space. Once melted, add the garlic and sauté for about 10 seconds, until it just starts to turn light brown. Then, pour in the Honey Garlic Sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce reduces to a thicker consistency and turns a rich amber brown color.
- Spoon the sauce over the pork chops. Turn off the heat, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Prefer pan-frying in a cast-iron skillet to achieve even heat and a golden crust on pork chops.
- Use a mixture of vegetable oil and butter to fry for better flavor and browning.
- Cook pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side without moving to develop a crust.
- Minced garlic should be freshly chopped by knife to avoid bitterness; avoid grating or blending the garlic.
