Bourbon Marinade

This bourbon marinade blends garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, bourbon, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper into a balanced sauce. It combines sweetness, umami, heat, and a boozy depth to enhance chicken, pork, or beef cuts. Marinating for at least an hour allows the flavors to infuse, tenderizing the meat while imparting rich savory and slightly spicy layers that complement grilled or pan-cooked dishes.

Description

The bourbon marinade starts by whisking together minced garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, bourbon, olive oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and fresh cracked black pepper until the sugar mostly dissolves. This creates a sweet-savory mixture with a subtle kick of heat and an aromatic bourbon flavor that is robust but balanced by the other ingredients.

Intended for meats such as chicken pieces, pork chops, pork tenderloin, flank steak, or sirloin, the marinade is applied with at least an hour of resting time or up to overnight. This soaking period helps tenderize the meat and deepen the flavor. The combination suits grilled or pan-seared cooking, enhancing the final dish with caramelized, rich notes from the marinade components.
