Bourbon Peach Old-Fashioned

The Bourbon Peach Old-Fashioned is a cocktail that combines peach-infused bourbon with brown sugar, orange and lemon juice, creating a balanced drink with a fruity and slightly tangy character. The infusion process involves soaking peach slices in bourbon, enhancing the spirit with natural peach flavors. Served over ice and garnished with a fresh peach slice and cinnamon, this cocktail offers a nuanced taste and warm aroma from the spices.

Description

The Bourbon Peach Old-Fashioned uses bourbon infused with fresh peach slices, which imparts subtle fruity notes to the spirit. Mixing brown sugar with orange and lemon juice adds sweetness and acidity that complements the bourbon's depth. The cocktail is shaken with ice and strained into a glass over fresh ice, garnished with peach slices and a light dusting of ground cinnamon to provide aromatic warmth. The peach-infused bourbon is prepared in advance by steeping peaches in bourbon for up to a week in the refrigerator, allowing the flavors to meld.

This cocktail presents a refreshing twist on the traditional Old-Fashioned, ideal for those who enjoy a balance between sweet, citrus, and rich bourbon flavors. Its warm notes from cinnamon and peach make it suitable for seasonal serving.

For infusion, frozen peaches can be substituted when fresh peaches are out of season. A mason jar can be used both for infusion and cocktail shaking if a shaker is unavailable, taking care to strain the ice out before serving. The infusion method is versatile and can be adapted with other flavors for different infusions.
