Braised Beef Ho Fun Noodle Soup
Description
Braised Beef Ho Fun Noodle Soup is prepared using beef chuck or brisket braised alongside daikon radish with a fragrant blend of star anise, cloves, ginger, and garlic. The broth is enriched with oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, salt, and water to create a deeply flavored base. The beef is cut into chunks and cooked under pressure for 60 minutes in an Instant Pot, allowing the meat to become tender and the radish to absorb the savory sauce.
The fresh ho fun-style rice noodles are briefly cooked in boiling water just to loosen them, as they are already cooked and refrigerated; this prevents overcooking and maintains good noodle texture. The resulting soup combines the tender beef, softened radish, and aromatic broth with smooth, wide rice noodles, offering a comforting and substantial meal.
This soup can be served hot as a filling lunch or dinner option. The balance of sweet, salty, and aromatic spices makes it distinctive. Careful timing of noodle preparation keeps texture ideal. Leftover soup can be reheated gently.
