Breaded Pork Chops

Breaded Pork Chops feature boneless pork cutlets coated in a blend of Italian bread crumbs, Parmesan, and parsley, pan-seared in garlic-infused olive oil, and finished in the oven. The process ensures a crispy golden crust while keeping the meat juicy inside. This recipe balances savory herb flavors with a tender, well-cooked pork chop ideal for a satisfying main course.

Description

The Breaded Pork Chops recipe involves coating pork chops in an egg and milk wash, then dredging them in a mixture of Italian-seasoned bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and dried parsley. The pork is first pan-fried in olive oil flavored by golden garlic, creating a crisp exterior. Baking the chops in the oven completes the cooking gently, reaching a safe internal temperature while maintaining moisture. This layered cooking approach brings a crunchy texture paired with tender, flavorful pork.

The garlic-infused oil adds a subtle aroma to the crust, and the Parmesan blends a mild sharpness into the breading. Cooking the pork chops to an internal temperature of 145°F and letting them rest enhances juiciness and flavor distribution. These chops can be served alongside vegetables or grains for a traditional meal.

Use a meat thermometer to achieve your preferred doneness, removing the chops slightly before the target temperature as they continue to cook while resting. Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to four days or frozen for three months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F on a greased baking sheet to retain crispness.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 egg lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ¾ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs or panko
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon parsley dried
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
  • 4 pork chops about ¾ inch thick, boneless

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow bowl, beat eggs and milk together. In another shallow dish, mix Italian bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and dried parsley.
  3. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. This will help the egg mixture stick to the pork chop and the egg mixture will help the bread crumb mixture stick.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add garlic and cook until golden brown to flavor the oil. Remove garlic with a slotted spoon.
  5. Dip each of the 4 pork chops into the egg mixture, then into the bread mixture until all sides are coated.
  6. Cook chops in the skillet for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden and crisp.
  7. Transfer chops to prepared baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 145°F. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to remove pork chops about 5 degrees below your desired temperature; they finish cooking while resting.
  • Rest chops for 5 minutes after baking for juicy results.
  • Store leftover chops airtight in the fridge up to 3-4 days or freeze tightly wrapped for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat pork chops on a greased baking sheet in the oven at 350°F for 15 minutes to retain texture.
