Breakfast Hand Pies Recipe

This recipe makes savory breakfast hand pies filled with eggs, chopped ham, bacon, and shredded Colby Jack cheese, optionally including vegetables. The crescent dough sheet forms individual pockets that hold a whole egg, baked until the yolk firms. The crust edges are rolled up to contain the filling, producing handheld pies with a tender dough base and rich, hearty filling suitable for a portable morning meal or brunch.

Description

Breakfast Hand Pies Recipe uses a refrigerated crescent dough sheet as the base, divided into four rectangles. Each is formed into a shallow crust cup to hold a whole egg and toppings like cooked ham, bacon, and shredded cheese. Optional vegetables can be added for flavor and texture. Baking at 375°F for about 16 to 20 minutes sets the egg yolk firmly and cooks the dough to a golden gentle crust. The result is a convenient, warm handheld pie that combines protein and cheese in a tender pastry.

The pies have a soft but sturdy dough exterior formed by the rolled edges, containing the yolk and toppings. The filling is hearty with egg providing creaminess, while the bacon and ham add savory notes and the cheese melts to bind the ingredients. If added, vegetables bring extra freshness and bite.

Serving these pies individually makes them suitable for a quick breakfast, brunch, or snack. They can be enjoyed warm fresh from the oven, handheld without utensils. The dough's mild sweetness and the salty fillings balance well for a satisfying start to the day.
