Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket

Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket wrap fully cooked breakfast sausages in cinnamon roll dough, baked until golden, and finished with drizzled icing. The combination yields warm, soft rolls with savory sausage centers complemented by sweet cinnamon dough and icing, suitable for a hearty breakfast or brunch treat.

Description

This recipe uses pre-cooked breakfast sausage links wrapped in individually portioned cinnamon roll dough. After flattening the dough slightly, each sausage is encased so that sausage ends remain visible. The wrapped rolls are placed seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment and baked at 350°F until the dough turns golden and fully cooked.

Once baked, the rolls are topped with the reserved cinnamon roll frosting while still warm to create contrasting sweet and savory flavors and a moist, gooey topping. Once slightly cooled, they can be served immediately as a filling morning dish.

Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket are simple to prepare using store-bought ingredients and are ideal for serving to family or guests as a special breakfast or brunch item with a pleasant combination of textures from soft dough to meat filling and sweet frosting.
