Breakfast Sliders Recipe (Bacon & Sausage)

Breakfast sliders combine scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and savory sausage links layered on slider buns with melted cheddar cheese and a garlic butter brush, then baked for a warm, handheld meal. The soft buns soak up the butter mixture, adding flavor and moisture. These sliders assemble easily in a baking dish and bake to a lightly browned finish, making them a satisfying choice for a group breakfast or brunch.

Description

Breakfast Sliders Recipe (Bacon & Sausage) includes layers of scrambled eggs, cooked bacon, and sausage links assembled onto slider buns with slices of cheddar cheese. The sliders are brushed with a seasoned melted butter mixture that contains garlic powder, black pepper, and salt before being baked at 375°F until lightly browned. The eggs are cooked gently to remain tender since they continue cooking in the oven. This method ensures a cohesive, warm dish that's convenient to serve in a large baking pan.

The combination of crispy bacon and savory sausage offers a balance of flavors and textures, complemented by smooth melted cheese and mellow garlic butter. Using slider buns keeps the sandwiches soft and easy to eat by hand. This layered approach simplifies assembly and baking, making these ideal for feeding multiple people at breakfast, brunch, or casual gatherings.

You can prepare some elements like the bacon and sausage in advance, though the eggs are best cooked fresh to maintain fluffiness. Variations are possible with different cheeses, sausage types, or rolls. Freezing wrapped sliders is an option, and baking them in a foil pan can help minimize cleanup and portability.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 lices Bacon
  • 8 sausage links
  • 6 egg large
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper cracked
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 lices cheddar cheese cut in half

Instructions

  1. Get prepped
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F, and heat a skillet to medium heat.
  3. Cut the rolls in half lengthwise (if they are not pre-split)

Cook the bacon, eggs and sausage

  1. Cook the bacon and sausage links until crispy and drain on paper towels.
  2. Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk lightly.
  3. Scramble the eggs in a skillet over low heat (do not overcook as they’ll go into the oven and cook some more).
  4. Season eggs with some salt and pepper.

Make the butter mixture

  1. Melt the butter and mix the salt, pepper and garlic powder in.

Assemble

  1. Grease a large baking dish (big enough to fit all of your sliders) with some of the butter.
  2. Cut the rolls in half lengthwise (if they are not pre-split) and add the bottoms of your slider buns to the dish.
  3. Add the bottoms of your slider buns to the dish. Layer eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheese slices over the top. Top with the slider bun tops. Brush with the butter.

Bake

  1. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees F until browned on top.
  2. Devour.

Notes

  • Bacon and sausage can be cooked ahead of time; scramble eggs fresh for best texture.
  • Using a 9x13-inch baking dish or foil pan works well for assembly and baking.
  • Sausage patties or bulk sausage can substitute sausage links.
  • Various cheeses like white cheddar, American, Swiss, provolone, or Gouda can be used instead of cheddar slices.
  • Any type of rolls may be used, including slider buns, Hawaiian rolls, or hot dog buns.
  • Wrap sliders tightly in parchment and plastic wrap to freeze for later use.
