Broccoli Cauliflower Salad

This salad mixes crunchy broccoli and cauliflower florets with crisp red onion, cubed cheese, crunchy sunflower seeds, and smoky bacon bits, all coated in a lightly sweetened mayonnaise dressing. The combination creates a textured, creamy salad with a balance of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors. It can be prepared ahead and served chilled, making it convenient for gatherings or meal prep.

Description

Broccoli Cauliflower Salad features fresh broccoli and cauliflower chopped into bite-sized pieces and combined with diced red onion and cubed cheese. Crumbled cooked bacon adds a smoky, savory element, while sunflower seeds provide a nutty crunch. The dressing, made from light mayonnaise, sugar, red wine vinegar, and salt, ties the ingredients together with a tangy sweetness.

The salad's mixture of crisp vegetables and creamy dressing offers refreshing texture contrasted by the richness of cheese and bacon. It pairs well as a side dish to grilled meats or sandwiches and benefits from refrigeration to meld flavors before serving.

For ease, ingredients can be prepared and stored separately in the refrigerator, then combined when ready to serve. Leftovers should be kept in an airtight container and consumed within 3 to 4 days for best freshness.
