Broccoli Cranberry Salad

This broccoli cranberry salad combines crisp broccoli florets, sweet dried cranberries, chopped Granny Smith apple, and sliced green onions tossed in a creamy dressing featuring mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, and poppy seeds. The salad balances crunchy textures with sweet and tangy flavors, enhanced by lemon juice and optional chopped pecans for a nutty bite.

Description

Broccoli Cranberry Salad brings together vibrant vegetables and fruits with a creamy, tangy dressing. The dressing, made of mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, and poppy seeds, provides a slightly sweet and zesty coating that complements the fresh broccoli and tart dried cranberries. Chopped Granny Smith apple adds a crisp, tart element while sliced green onions introduce mild sharpness. The optional pecans contribute extra crunch and a subtle nuttiness.

After mixing, the salad benefits from refrigeration to allow flavors to meld and the dressing to slightly soften the broccoli's bite without losing crunch. It works well as a side dish at lunches or dinners, particularly at potlucks or picnics.
