Broccoli Salad
Description
This Broccoli Salad centers on raw broccoli florets providing crunch, combined with salty cooked bacon and sharp cheeses—cheddar and gouda cubes. The addition of dried cranberries gives a tart sweetness, while walnuts add earthy crunch and nutty depth. Thin slices of red onion introduce a mild bite.
The dressing is a creamy blend of mayonnaise, bright apple cider vinegar, sugar to balance acidity, and poppy seeds for texture. Tossing everything together coats the salad ingredients evenly. Chilling the salad enhances the flavor integration and keeps the broccoli crisp.
This salad works well as a side dish for picnics, barbecues, or as a fresh accompaniment to heavier meals. It can be prepared in advance and held chilled until serving.
