Brown Sugar Baked Oatmeal

Brown Sugar Baked Oatmeal is a warm and comforting breakfast casserole combining old fashioned oats with brown sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder for a softly spiced, tender texture. Eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla bind and enrich the mixture, which is baked until golden with a crumbly brown sugar and oat topping. Served warm, it makes for a hearty and satisfying morning meal.

Description

This baked oatmeal recipe blends old fashioned oats with brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt, then incorporates eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to create a moist, cohesive base. It is spread evenly in a greased 9x9 pan and topped with a mixture of brown sugar, oats, and softened butter that bakes into a lightly crisp, sweet crust.

Baked at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes, the oatmeal sets to a tender but structured texture with a hint of spice from cinnamon. The topping adds textural contrast while the vanilla imparts subtle sweetness and depth. Served warm, it can be enjoyed on its own or with a drizzle of cream.

The dish can be prepared a day ahead and kept refrigerated for convenient reheating. Individual portions can also be baked in muffin tins for grab-and-go breakfasts. Covered leftovers stay fresh about five days in the fridge, and baking oatmeal freezes well for up to two months with reheating in a microwave before serving.
