Brown Sugar Muffins

Brown Sugar Muffins are tender, mildly sweet muffins made with light brown sugar, melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla, combined with all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, optionally including chopped nuts. They bake to a golden top with a sweet, buttery flavor and soft crumb, suitable for breakfast or snacks.

Description

The recipe for Brown Sugar Muffins mixes melted butter and light brown sugar with milk, egg, and vanilla extract to create a moist and flavorful base. Dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt are incorporated gently to avoid overmixing, which helps maintain a tender crumb. Coarsely chopped nuts can be added for texture and flavor contrast.

Portioned into greased or paper-lined muffin cups, the batter bakes at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean, resulting in evenly baked muffins. The brown sugar imparts a subtle molasses note, complementing the vanilla and butter richness.

These muffins are versatile for breakfast or as a sweet snack and can be customized with nuts or other mix-ins. The notes remind that nutrition values may vary depending on ingredient brands used.
