Brownie Pie

Brownie Pie is a chocolate dessert featuring a brownie batter baked inside a traditional pie crust. The filling combines melted butter, sugar, eggs, cocoa powder, and flour to form a rich and fudgy base, with semi-sweet chocolate chips both mixed into and scattered atop the batter. Baking in a pie crust adds a crisp, flaky contrast to the dense chocolate center.

Description

This Brownie Pie recipe uses a pre-made or homemade pie crust as a base for a chocolate brownie filling made from melted butter, sugar, eggs, cocoa powder, and flour. The batter is enriched with semi-sweet chocolate chips mixed in and sprinkled on top before baking. Baking at 350°F for 40-45 minutes sets the filling, achieving a fudgy texture inside with a crisp crust outside.

The combination of pie crust and brownie creates a dessert that balances the soft, rich brownie with the crunch of the crust. The chocolate chips inside deliver pockets of melted chocolate, enhancing the depth of flavor. To avoid premature crust browning, covering with foil halfway through baking is recommended.

Brownie Pie can be served warm or cooled, alone or with accompaniments like whipped cream or ice cream. Proper baking ensures the center remains moist but fully set.
