Brussel Sprouts and Bacon Recipe

Brussel Sprouts cooked with thick-cut bacon, butter, and onions result in a savory dish combining crisped bacon and caramelized sprouts. The sprouts develop a golden exterior by sautéing in butter and bacon fat, enhanced by the smoky, salty bacon pieces. This side pairs well with a variety of meals, offering a balance of crisp texture and rich flavor.

Description

This recipe starts by crisping thick-cut bacon in a skillet, then using the rendered bacon fat along with butter to cook halved Brussels sprouts and chopped onions until the sprouts are golden brown. The combination of bacon fat and butter adds richness, while the onions soften and add sweetness. After cooking, the bacon pieces are stirred back in to distribute their smoky, salty flavor throughout. Seasoned with salt and black pepper, the dish is finished and ready to serve warm as a hearty side dish.

The recipe serves 4–6 people, suitable as a side for many main courses. For best results, cook sprouts until golden for texture contrast and flavor development. If desired, cooking the sprouts a few minutes longer can enhance the caramelization.
