Buffalo Chicken Burgers Recipe

These ground Buffalo chicken burgers are made with tangy Buffalo sauce and overflowing with crumbly blue cheese. They're juicy and bold with flavor. Here is the recipe.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 2 jalapeno pepper chopped
  • 1 onion chopped, small
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ¼ cup panko or more as needed
  • ¼ cup buffalo sauce – add more if you want more of the Buffalo sauce flavor
  • 3-4 ounces blue cheese add more if you want yours cheesier, crumbled
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • butter if desired, melted, for serving
  • 4 bread bun for serving

Instructions

  1. First, heat a pan to medium heat and add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add jalapeno peppers and onion and cook about 5 minutes to soften.
  2. Next, add garlic and cook about a minute, stirring.
  3. Add the mixture to a mixing bowl and cool.
  4. Add ground chicken, panko, Buffalo sauce and most of the crumbled blue cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Hand mix. Do not overmix or the burgers will become mealy.
  6. Next, form the mixture into 4 burger patties.
  7. Heat the pan again to medium and add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Cook the burgers about 5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through. They should register 165 degrees F internally when measured with a meat thermometer.
  8. Last, lightly brush with butter then serve on buns with extra blue cheese crumbles and Buffalo sauce. We added in some crisp lettuce and tomato slices. Yum!

Notes

  • Some brands of ground chicken can be pretty wet. You can drain them before using, or use more panko if needed to hold them together.
