Buffalo Chicken Crescent Rolls
Description
Buffalo Chicken Crescent Rolls bring together canned shredded chicken, a blend of cheeses, and hot sauce in a creamy mixture that is wrapped inside flaky crescent roll dough. The dough is carefully folded and pinched into a compact crescent shape to hold the spicy, creamy filling during baking. Brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with bread crumbs, they bake to a golden brown crust with a soft, cheesy core.
The balance of sharp cheese and hot sauce complements the tender chicken, making each bite flavorful and moist. Baking them at 375°F ensures the dough puffs up nicely and crisps without flattening, locking in the filling’s texture.
Serve these rolls warm as a hearty appetizer or snack alongside a simple salad or vegetables. The combination of cream cheese and mayo smooths the hot sauce's intensity, offering a rich but balanced taste.
Using your favorite shredded cheese and hot sauce customizes the flavor to your preference. Be sure to pinch the dough edges well to avoid filling leakage and to keep the rolls’ shape during baking.
Ingredients
- 1 crescent roll dough in tube
- 1 chicken 10 oz canned, drained
- 1 cup cheese shredded
- 1 Tbsp hot sauce
- 2 oz cream cheese room temp
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- salt dash
- black pepper dash
- 2 Tbsp butter melted
- 2 tsp bread crumbs plain
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine the chicken, cheese, hot sauce, cream cheese, mayonnaise with a dash of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Open the crescent tube and separate the triangles. Add some of the chicken mixture to the wide end of the triangle. Take the opposite ends and fold it over each other. Then fold over the rest of the crescent and pinch together to form shape of a ball. (Be sure to pinch together really well, or else some of the chicken mixture may ooze out.)
- Brush tops of crescent puffs with melted butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Bake in preheated oven 12-15 minutes. Tops of crescents should be really golden in color. (Don’t open oven door during baking, crescents will flatter and won’t be flakey.)
Notes
- Any shredded cheese such as mozzarella, four cheese blend, or Mexican cheese works well, or you can combine types.
- Choose your preferred hot sauce like Sriracha, Tabasco, or Red Hot to adjust the heat level.
