Buffalo Sloppy Joes

Buffalo Sloppy Joes are a spicy twist on a traditional sloppy joe sandwich. Instead of ground beef, you can use ground chicken or turkey with a spicy sauce and topped with blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 pounds ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup yellow onion finely chopped
  • ¾ cup celery about 2 stalks, diced
  • ¾ cup carrot about 1 large carrot, grated
  • 3 garlic minced, cloves
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 /4 cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (use Monkfruit if Keto)
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 /4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 Hamburger Bun
  • blue cheese optional, crumbled; or blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown and crumble meat, onion, celery, and carrot until meat is no longer pink. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, hot sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and pepper until warm.
  3. Serve on buns with crumbled blue cheese, blue cheese or ranch dressing, or additional Buffalo sauce if desired.
