Ingredients

Servings
  • 6 lices white bread thick sliced
  • 2 large egg whisked
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon butter melted, unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ tablespoon brown sugar

For frying

  • vegetable oil

Sugar Dusting

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Dipping

  • maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Heat 1” of canola oil in a frying pan to 350*
  3. Cut bread slices into 1” strips.
  4. Combine eggs, heavy cream, melted butter, maple extract, salt, cinnamon, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  5. Whisk well. (We recommend a bowl with a pour spout)
  6. Dip each strip of bread into the egg mixture until saturated.
  7. Once soaked, place onto a wire rack lined baking sheet as you work. This allows excess liquid to drip from the french toast sticks before frying.
  8. Carefully add toast sticks to the hot oil.
  9. Fry for 1 minute per side.
  10. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and mix. Spread into a shallow pan.
  11. Roll each french toast stick in the cinnamon sugar to coat.
  12. Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping. Here is a list of all of our favorite sides to serve with french toast. Enjoy every bite!
