If you are looking for a simple way to add flavor to white rice, make this Butter Rice. It is simple to make and is the perfect side dish to any recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, 2 tablespoons of butter, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 18 minutes.
- After 18 minutes, remove the pan from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and black pepper.
- Fold in the chopped parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
Notes
- Long-grain white rice works best for this recipe, but you can substitute with jasmine or basmati for a different flavor profile.
- Rinsing the rice removes excess starch, resulting in fluffier rice. However, if you prefer stickier rice, you can skip this step.
- Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze in a freezer bag or container for up to 3 months.
