Cabbage Hash Browns

Cabbage Hash Browns blend shredded cabbage and onion with eggs and seasonings to form golden, tender patties crisped in oil. The addition of garlic, paprika, and Italian herbs gives the hash browns a savory depth without potatoes. These patties offer a vegetable-based alternative to traditional hash browns, suitable as part of breakfast or as a side dish.

Description

This recipe uses shredded cabbage and thinly sliced onion mixed with whisked eggs combined with minced garlic, paprika, Italian herbs, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. The mixture is formed into patties that are fried in vegetable oil until each side is golden and cooked through, roughly 3 to 4 minutes per side.

The result is a tender yet crisp hash brown with a savory, herb-forward flavor and subtle sweetness from the cabbage and onions. Garlic and paprika add mild pungency and warmth, balancing the mild cabbage base.

Cabbage hash browns can be served as part of a breakfast spread, alongside eggs or meats, or as an appetizer. They provide a crispy texture distinct from potato hash browns while incorporating more vegetables.
