Cajun Remoulade Sauce

Cajun Remoulade Sauce is a creamy condiment combining mayonnaise, mustard, pickle relish, lemon juice, and a blend of Cajun spices and hot sauce. It’s a tangy, mildly spicy sauce with garlic and horseradish, ideal for adding a zesty kick to fried seafood, crab cakes, chicken, or potato wedges.

Description

This remoulade sauce blends common pantry ingredients to create a flavorful dressing with layers of savory, tangy, and spicy notes. The base of mayonnaise provides creaminess, enhanced by mustard and pickle relish for tang. Lemon juice adds brightness, while paprika, Cajun seasoning, horseradish, garlic, Worcestershire, and hot sauce contribute a balanced heat and depth. Whisked together, the flavors meld over a few hours or preferably overnight for a more integrated taste.

This versatile sauce can be served chilled alongside fried fish, as a dip for baked potato wedges, or drizzled over crab cakes and chicken. Its sturdy texture holds up well on various foods.

Prepare the sauce at least two hours before serving, or up to two days ahead. Keep leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Freezing is not recommended due to separation.
