Candied Salmon
Description
This recipe prepares salmon fillets by seasoning them with sea salt and black pepper, then topping with a pecan mixture blended with pure maple syrup and coconut aminos. When baked at 400°F, the topping caramelizes and forms a glossy, nutty crust while the salmon cooks through and flakes easily.
The flavor profile combines the natural richness of salmon with the sweet maple syrup and slight umami from coconut aminos, complemented by the crunchy texture of pecans. Baking time is short, preserving the moisture of the fish and preventing dryness.
Serving the candied salmon fresh from the oven showcases the glaze’s texture and flavor best. Leftovers keep for up to three days refrigerated. Variations like chopped versus halved pecans or swapping honey for maple syrup allow for some flexibility while maintaining the overall character of the dish.
