Candy Cane Jello Shots
Description
The recipe creates candy cane inspired jello shots with two distinct layers. The red layer is made by dissolving cherry gelatin mix in water, then adding chilled vodka for a sharp, fruity alcoholic base. The white layer uses unflavored gelatin dissolved in water mixed with sweetened condensed milk and peppermint schnapps, providing a creamy texture with cool mint flavor. Both layers are chilled and set separately before adding subsequent layers into shot glasses to form striped patterns resembling candy canes.
The jello shots are finished with whipped cream on top and crushed peppermint candy to enhance the mint theme and add a bit of crunch. Serving these chilled highlights their firm but tender texture and complements the brisk alcohol notes.
This recipe is designed as an adult holiday party treat, featuring typical cocktail ingredients and layered presentation. The instructions call for careful preparation of each layer, allowing them to set properly to maintain distinct stripes. It is important to chill each jello layer enough to avoid mixing when adding the next layer.
