Caramel Apple Danish

These caramel apple danishes are super easy thanks to store-bought puff pastry, filled with tasty granny smith apples and sweet caramel sauce, you’re going to love them!

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry thawed, sheet
  • 2 apple thinly sliced, Granny Smith, large
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg beaten with a splash of water, large
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • sea salt optional, flakey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  2. Roll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it is 1/4-inch thick. 
  3. Cut the puff pastry into six rectangles.
  4. Use a paring knife to gently slice a 1/4-inch thick border around the edge. Make sure not to cut all the way through the puff pastry! 
  5. Fill the center of the puff pastry with sliced apple. 
  6. In a small bowl stir together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the Danishes. 
  7. Brush the border of the Danishes with egg wash.
  8. Bake the Danishes for 15-17 minutes or until the edges of the pastry are golden brown. 
  9. Allow the pastry to cool on the pan and then drizzle over the caramel sauce. Top with a sprinkle of flakey salt, if desired. 
  10. Store any leftover Danishes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
