Description
This frappuccino recipe layers flavors beginning with crushed hard caramel candies for added texture and crunch. The blended base mixes iced milk, cold brewed coffee, and caramel sauce, blended until nearly smooth but retaining slight texture. The drink is poured into glasses optionally drizzled with caramel sauce along the sides for visual appeal and added caramel flavor.
The whipped cream topping is garnished with additional caramel sauce and the crushed caramel candies, providing contrasts between creamy, smooth, and crunchy elements in each sip. This beverage is served immediately to retain the ice's refreshing chill and the caramel's delicate texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup ice 240g
- 1 cup milk 240ml
- ½ cup brewed coffee cold, 120ml
- 4 tablespoons caramel sauce
To serve
- caramel sauce
- Whipped Cream
- 2 tablespoons hard caramel candies I use Werther’s, crushed
Instructions
- To crush the hard caramel candies, add a few to a ziplock bag, then crush them with a rolling pin to break them up. Set aside.
- Add the ice, milk, coffee and caramel sauce to a blender and blend until not-quite-smooth.
- Drizzle a little caramel sauce into the edges of the glasses (optional), and pour in the caramel frappuccino.
- Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce and the crushed caramel candies.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
